IGNOU in Lunglei Govt. College :
The Indira Gandhi National Open University Study Centre was started in Lunglei Govt. College in the year 1998 with an agreement signed between IGNOU authority and Principal, Lunglei Govt. College. The Study Centre code no. is 1902. The Study Centre offers different programmes of studies like Bachelors’ Preparatory Programme (BPP),Bachelors’ Degree Programme (BDP) viz; B.Sc, B.A, B.Com and Master of Arts in English, Political Science. Admission for the aforesaid programme is done twice in a year during January and July. Term End Examination is held in the month of June and December respectively. Enrolment of students is usually around 250 every year.
The Study Centre conducts exams for different programme under IGNOU like Diploma,Certificates,BPP,PBDP,B.Ed, M.Ed and M.A courses.
Co-ordinator heads the Study Centre with 3 other Staff in the office. The host institution provides a room for IGNOU office and store with all other essential facilities.
